ABOUT GO NEWARK HOOPFEST:

On January 25, Mayor Cory Booker and Governor Chris Christie officially launched GoNewark HoopFest! With 84 basketball games scheduled this year, including the East Regional of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Prudential Center will host more hoops action than virtually any other venue in the country, further establishing Newark’s reputation as one of the best basketball cities in the nation and bringing even more energy to Newark’s resurgence.

As a GoNewark HoopFest volunteer, this is your chance to showcase your community spirit and all that you love about Newark! We cannot provide you tickets, but your commitment and participation as a volunteer is crucial to Newark’s success hosting the NCAA East Regional Tournament and to Newark being awarded future world-class entertainment and sporting events.

AND… as an extra “thank you,” the NEW JERSEY DEVILS will host a special GoNewark HoopFest Volunteer Recognition Night on April 6 at the Prudential Center and Mayor Booker will attend to thank you personally! Each volunteer who meets the criteria and attends their volunteer shift(s) will receive two complimentary tickets to the Devils game that night.
THANK YOU FOR JOINING THE TEAM!
